The Speculative Life Research Cluster at Concordia University’s Milieux Institute for Arts, Culture, and Technology is a distinctive research group that places great importance on the intersection of science and technology studies, ecology and environment, scale and networks, and the vital role of imagination and futurity in design, art, and scholarship.

Comprised of artists, designers, and scholars, the cluster offers a unique opportunity to cultivate the study and creation of emerging technologies with a strong focus on social justice, diversity, and imaginative thinking. It actively engages with various technical ecosystems, spanning from bio-media to urban planning, in order to encourage innovative approaches to understanding and envisioning the future amidst the profound planetary-scale transformations resulting from human actions and technological advancements.
