The Department of Speculative Transformation (DST) hosted a thought-provoking event on October 20, featuring digital anthropologist and bestselling author Rahaf Harfoush. Held in the Great Hall of the Deutsches Hygiene-Museum Dresden, the event focused on societal transformations in the era of polycrisis.

Harfoush participated in a panel of interdisciplinary researchers in exploring diverse perspectives on change and leadership in contemporary society. Titled „Transforming Societies in the Polycrisis Era – Perspectives on Change and Leadership,“ the event facilitated profound reflections on the challenges and opportunities presented by multiple crises.

Attendees seized the opportunity to engage in networking and continue their discussions in an informal setting post-panel. Collaborating with organizations such as Silicon Saxony, CeTI, femMit, and women@DDc, the event underscored the importance of interdisciplinary dialogue in addressing complex societal issues.

What a pleasant evening it was! We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Rahaf Harfoush, Solvejg Nitzke, Elizabeth von Hauff, Merle Emre, and Dr. Stephanie Rohac for their contributions to the discussion and for making the get-together so enjoyable.
If you missed the event, don’t worry! We’re in the process of compiling materials from the event, and we’ll be sharing a few snippets for you to watch and listen to on our homepage www.dst-tud.de in the near future.
Thank you once again to Women@DDc Network, CeTI and femMit!
Here’s to an exciting and transformative future!
